psychology, what is the best reference for the scientific theory of

Probably the theoyy should be formalized in terms of concepts as objects
rather than in terms of game theory.  Can we consider games among the
aspects of a single person?  Does the temptable aspect of the personality
pursue a strategy?  Intuition suggests the answer is yes and so do both
folk psychology and Freudian psychology.
